Sue Kingston was born and raised in the Home Counties and spent much of her childhood by the Cornish coastline. She began drawing at a young age and was awarded a place at a local art college during the 1960's. Since moving to Norfolk in 1979, Sue has continued to develop her own unique style of painting in a variety of mediums including Gouache and acrylics.

Her abstract work uses shape and colour straight from her imagination, not from any preconceived idea. Her still life paintings are snapshots of everyday objects from an artist's perspective.

Inspiration for her land and sea-scapes comes from the local coastline, woodlands and revisiting Cornwall. Her impressions of mountainous regions are inspired by the Scottish Highlands. These paintings instill a sense of calm and capture a touch of magic.
